It has been a long wait but it’s certainly something worth waiting for. Actress Yoon Eun Hye will finally be returning to the small screen with a new drama this August after a near 2 years absence with MBC’s Coffee Prince.

Yoon Eun Hye will be returning with the drama called Lady Castle which is tentatively set for a 19th August premiere on KBS2TV. Lady Castle will be taking over the spot vacated by the lawyer drama, Partners in the Wed-Thus timeslot if everything goes according to schedule (barring drama extensions, etc). Competing dramas will be SBS’s Swallow the Sun starring Ji Sung, Sung Yuri, Lee Wan and MBC’s horror drama, Soul, starring Lee Seo Jin.

Lady Castle is a story about 3 daughters and the inheritance left by their father. Their lifestyle is disrupted after a poor man disguises himself as a housekeeper/manager of a rich house with an eye on the family’s hidden slush fund. He falls in love with the haughty second daughter (of three), Noh Yura, played by Yoon Eun Hye. Noh Yura is a lady who possesses a goddess-like beauty. She is strong-headed, selfish and the world revolves around her, where all things must go her way. Yet, Yura is lonely and longs to be loved, and for this, Yura is weak in front of true love and is one who you cannot help but love.

Regardless, no one wants to be typecast and remembered for just that one drama, movie or role. Actress, Kim So Eun who rose to prominence after her role as Ga Eul in Boys Before Flowers, will be taking on a totally new role for her latest drama, The Man Who Can’t Get Married.

The press conference for KBS2TV The Man Who Can’t Get Married was held on the 9th at Seoul Palace Hotel, with the main cast of Ji Jin Hee, Uhm Jung Hwa, Yang Jung Ah, Kim So Eun and Yoo Ah In attending and meeting the media. Kim So Eun talked about her role, “The role that I am playing is called, Jung Yoo Jin and is vastly different from the Chu Ga Eul character that I played in Boys Before Flowers. In the previous drama, Chu Ga Eul is a quiet girl who often encourages her friend, Geum Jandi. But Jung Yoo Jin has a more outgoing personality and is pretty similar to what I am in reality. I thus have an easier time acting out my scenes when the cameras start rolling.”

A few pics of T.O.P from the highly anticipated drama IRIS popped up on the internet today. I couldn’t help but laugh at the way T.O.P was holding his gun in one of the pics. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought T.O.P was playing the role of a special agent and not a street thug.

[03.08.09] Jang Ja Yun Suicide Because of Depression

Posted in Boys Before Flowers with tags , , on March 9, 2009 by koala41

The shock suicide of Boys Before Flowers actress Jang Ja Yun (26) is still causing shockwaves all over Korea and the industry with many speculating over the actual reasons behind her doing so. Theories ranged from contractual woes with her management, lack of appearances (airtime) in Boys Before Flowers, bashing by antis, etc but close friends have revealed that the main reason was probably depression. Jang Ja Yun had hanged herself in her home yesterday with police ruling out any forms of foul play after initial investigations.

Police revealed after investigations that Jang Ja Yun had developed depression after losing her parents in a car accident 10 years ago. Jang Ja Yun was still in high school when that happened and although she got on well with life after inheriting her parent’s fortune, she had already suffered a big blow mentally that could not be healed easily. Jang Ja Yun might have looked cheerful and bubbly on the outside normally, but she was horribly scared of being left alone deep inside her heart and highly afraid (phobia) about losing her friends.
