Actress Han Hye Jin is likely to be cast in the upcoming MBC drama “Cinderella Man” , set to broadcast in April, as the co-star/lover of Kwon Sang Woo. She will be playing the role of a fashion designer Seo Yeo Jin, set to begin a problematic love relationship with Kwon.

Despite being cast as a fashion designer, Han Hye Jin’s character isn’t all that glamorous. Yeo Jin studies in a top fashion design school in Paris but goes into heavy debt after her father’s sudden death. Her life changes from heaven to hell in a snap.

Yeo Jin is a character with a strong self-esteem, who rathers being starved to death than to beg from others. However, under a chance coincidence, she is forced to share a small shop left by her father with an mysterious “hooligan” Oh Dae San (Kwon Sang Woo). Under his “guidance”, Yeo Jin works as a fashion designer for imitation goods and is later thrown into confusion during the love process.

However, it is said that MBC is still considering Han Hye Jin’s involvement as they deemed this role too similar to her role in “Terroir”. Another actress being cast is Han Eun Jung.

Kwon Sang-woo weds Sohn Tae-young (finally)

After all the hullaballo, Kwon Sang-woo finally married Sohn Tae-young today (September 28), and I for one am glad, since we won’t be having to hear about it anymore.

The couple gave a press conference prior to the wedding, as the wedding itself was closed to the press. Sohn Tae-young wore a Kenneth Pool gown, which she bought on the couple’s recent trip to England.

Kwon: “I’m finally getting married. I’m so nervous — my nerves don’t begin to compare with any film festival or event I’ve been to. … We’ll live happily together. I vow to love her forever.” Sohn: “It doesn’t feel real yet. Actually, I wasn’t nervous at all while getting ready. But now I’m starting to feel it.”

When asked about kids, Kwon answered that he’d like three, but joked that Sohn “has agreed to two, for her figure’s sake.”

And, since it’s not every day such a huge Hallyu star gets married, we have a pretty impressive guest-star roster that rivals the red carpet at some of the largest industry events.

Kwon Sang Woo Elated with Marriage in Sight

Posted in Entertainment News, Kwon Sang Woo, Son Tae Young with tags , on September 27, 2008 by koala41

Hallyu star Kwon Sang Woo left a message for his fans at 3am in the morning today via his fan cafe, expressing how blissful he is feeling right now in view of his impending marriage this weekend with Son Tae Young.

Kwon Sang Woo expressed

I can’t get to sleep once again. It has been like this recently and there were many important events from the past that flashed before my eyes. But my wedding will become the most important event of my life. I will have to become more mature and responsible 3 days later. I hope that my fans will give me their blessings.

I have been counting down the weeks and days, recollecting every memory I had, the moment when I debuted, my childhood, the present me, etc just appeared in my mind. There are many beautiful moments in my life but nothing is more important than this. To be able to spend the rest of my lifetime with her is probably the most beautiful moment of my life. I watched ‘Notting Hill’ again recently and it really moved me this time. I didn’t have that feeling when I watched the movie in the past.”

Kwon Sang Woo and Son Tae Young wedding ceremony will take place this Sunday at Seoul’s Shilla Hotel and will be a closed-door event (only invited guests). Although the number of guests won’t be as many as Yoo Jae Suk, many big-names will grace the event including Bae Yong Joon, Jang Dong Gun, Lee Byung Hyun, Song Seung Hun, Choi Ji Woo, Ha Ji Won, Won Bin, So Ji Sup, Cha Seung Won, Lee Sung Jae, Park Yong Ha, Ryu Si Won, Lee Mi Yeon, etc. Jo Sung Mo, just out from the army in May will sing the congratulatory song.

>> Can’t believe that their wedding’s gonna be tomorrow already.. Best wishes to them. ^^

Ha Ji-won in “My Love By My Side”

Posted in Entertainment News, Ha Ji Won, Korean Movie, Kwon Sang Woo with tags , , on September 23, 2008 by koala41

Time for Kwon Sang-woo to share a bit of the spotlight: He’s been cast alongside Ha Ji-won in the new movie My Love By My Side [내 사랑 내 곁에], to be directed by Park Jin-pyo (You’re My Sunshine, Voice of a Murder).

The film is described as a melodramatic romance centering around a man who suffers from Lou Gehrig’s disease and the self-sacrificing woman who loves him. Kwon’s character suffers from the incurable illness as his body gradually becomes more and more paralyzed, but maintains his sense of humor and his dignity.

Ha Ji-won plays a cheerful and upbeat funeral director, and because of the frequency with which she encounters death, she doesn’t think of disease as the grave and dire thing that people typically see it as being.

The movie will be released sometime next year, and on the downside, I’m a bit sick of Kwon Sang-woo too, and terminal-illness melodramas are never my bag. On the upside, it’s always great to see Ha Ji-won in action.

>>I’ll be looking forward to this movie coz it seems nice… but then… the story looks so sad and tragic.
